About Foundation Chiropody

Serving Mississauga, Foundation Chiropody is a team of foot care specialists. The scope of practice for Chiropodists is the assessment of the foot and the treatment and prevention of diseases, disorders or dysfunction of the foot by therapeutic, orthotic or palliative means. The human foot is mechanically complex and very strong. The ankle serves as foundation, a shock absorber, and a propulsion engine. The foot can sustain enormous pressure and provides flexibility and resiliency. Your foot is made up of: 26 bones, 33 joints, over 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. These structures are supported by a vast array of blood vessels and nerves and work together to provide us with balance and mobility. A problem with any of these structures can cause problems anywhere in the body. At our clinic we assess and treat a number of dysfunctions, including using modern techniques to help with the prevention of falling with the use of orthotics and leg braces.
