There are 3 ways teeth can be lost: 1- gum disease: bacteria in the mouth can lead to tartar formation and bone loss. Bone loss will cause loosening of teeth 2- Bacteria in the mouth can lead to cavities, if not addressed quickly, this will cause the pulp to die off, which will result in need for root canal therapy or extraction. 3- Structural weakness caused by previous large cavities can cause teeth to break. These can be restored by crowns preventatively. Also a bite imbalances can cause fractures. Balancing the bite can prevent fractures and also might alleviate grinding. We can address missing teeth with implants, bridges or partial dentures. A healthy smile - a healthy you.
