Dr Sandra Cortina is no newcomer to the health and lifestyle sphere however—first completing her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with dual certification in Human Nutrition from Simon Fraser University in 2008. Through a series of subsequent and serendipitous training paths through public health, nursing and later medicine, she is back to her passion of practicing lifestyle and weight-loss medicine. Today, her purpose and passion lie in helping patients unlearn diet culture myths and replacing it with evidence-based treatment. She is also an advocate for accurate scientific communication on social media, including both evidence-based medicine and evidence-based nutrition science.
